As followers of Jesus we are not exempt from the storms of life.
Following Jesus is communal.
STORMS REVEAL THE CONDITION OF OUR FAITH (vv. 37–38)
Storms expose what we truly believe about Jesus.
When we lose sight of Jesus our fear grows.
JESUS HAS AUTHORITY OVER EVERY STORM (v. 39)
Jesus possesses complete authority over creation.
Jesus has authority over the chaos we cannot control.
JESUS CALLS HIS DISCIPLES TO TRUST HIM (vv. 40–41)
Fear decreases as our understanding of Jesus increases.
Growing faith comes through experiencing Christ’s power.
